Macomb County issued the following announcement on Oct. 30.
A faulty well or septic system can threaten a family’s health as well as harm pets and wildlife, contaminate groundwater and lower property values. Protecting and maintaining a household water system is as simple as following a few guidelines.
Macomb County MSU Extension (MSUE), in partnership with the Macomb County Health Department, is holding a FREE Septic and Well Use and Maintenance Workshop in Clinton Township. This workshop will help residents protect the health of their family and the quality of surface and groundwater.
The workshop will cover how a septic system functions, septic system maintenance, how to detect septic system failure, and water conservation. Basic well construction and maintenance will also be included. Handouts will be available including the HAS Septic System Assessment Chapter.
The workshop will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the MSU Extension Assembly Rooms, Verkuilen Building, 21885 Dunham Road, Clinton Township MI 48036. To register, visit https://events.anr.msu.edu/septicsystemoct2019/. For more information or registration assistance, please call 586-469-6440.
