City of St. Clair County issued the following announcement on April 17.
Interpreting data can be difficult to understand and confusing. COVID-19 data is constantly evolving and will change daily dependent of time and date it is collected. Therefore, the daily reports that began earlier this week have since been revaluated. Information is now updated and will include different graphs that will work towards eliminating confusion on data interpretation.
Starting today, this information will be reported on a daily basis:
• Percentage of available hospital beds;
• Percentage of hospital beds currently being used for COVID-19 patients;
• Total number of hospitalized patients;
• The number of new cases since last update;
• The total number of cases to date;
• The total number of deaths;
• The total number of those recovered
Due to the data reporting system limitations; a weekly update will be provided on testing information. As of April 15, 2020:
• The total number of COVID-19 tests administered; 1,125 tests completed
• Percentage of positive tests; 22.3% positivity rate
• Percentage of negative tests; 77.7% negative rate Furthermore, on all the reports being distributed, this statement will also be included: This report is subject to change. As COVID-19 disease investigations continue, there will be corrections to the status and details of cases that will result in changes to the report.
