Macomb County issued the following announcement on Aug. 7.
Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! has continued to provide remote services for individuals affected by unemployment during the pandemic. While centers remain closed to the general public, as they are reconfigured to accommodate the new normal, there has been continued demand to bring as many traditional services as possible to individuals remotely. One of those in the highest demand is employability workshops and local featured jobs.
“Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! remains dedicated to helping individuals navigate unemployment,” said John Bierbusse, executive director of the Macomb/St. Clair Workforce Development Board. “As work continues in reconfiguring centers to properly accommodate social distancing and the safety of all, we remain dedicated to finding new ways to provide remote services for individuals in need.”
Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works! to host first live remote Resume Workshop and Q&A session. Anyone can register and attend for free at http://www.macomb-stclairworks.org/webinar. The first workshop will be hosted on Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 from 9:00 am – 10:30 am. In this workshop job seekers affected by COVID-19 will discover the most effective way to create cover letters, resumes, and how to follow up after submitting them. A short Q&A will be held after the presentation.

A variety of topics are covered that are relevant to the upcoming post-pandemic job search such as updating resumes, remote interviewing, social media usage, and online networking. In addition to the new workshops, individuals can receive one-on-one help remotely in regards to both workshop topics and many other services provided by calling any of the centers below.
