The Marysville School Board voted for a plan that would approve giving the option to students to return to in-person instruction, according to a report in the Times Herald.
This would create a hybrid plan in which students would attend some subjects online and some in the classroom. The School Board voted to approve the measure by a vote of 6-1. The school district started out the school year with a completely online method of learning, and public opinion has, in recent months, swayed them to adopt a hybrid plan.
Under the plan that was approved by the school board, students would attend virtually along with students who opted for in-person instruction to the same course, providing for seamless transition and making the option available for every student. Additionally, most students would have the option to pursue a hybrid strategy, picking and choosing which classes they prefer to attend in-person or online.
Marysville Public Schools Superintendent Shawn Wightman told the Times Herald, "This student can be synchronously logged in online and be a part of the day, just like the students who have parents that aren't comfortable sending them to school can log in and do the same."
The plan is set to go into effect as soon as possible.
