City of Algonac issued the following announcement on Feb. 2.
Big changes coming to Scout Park this summer! Thank you to St. Clair County Commissioner Dave Vandenboschhe for offering Algonac an opportunity to benefit from American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 economic stimulus funds recently received by the County. The County will be contributing $65,000 towards the $128,000 project cost. The 22-year old equipment at Scout Park will be replaced with nautically-themed equipment and facilities that will work for all kids, including those that have special needs. This will be one of the first parks in the south end of the county designed with special needs in mind. The park will include the installation of a Core Communication Board for non-verbal kids, donated by Youth for the Future and designed by Scoreboard ‘N More. Commissioner Vandenboschhe also secured over $25,000 in ARPA funds to replace a 1975 generator at DPW. Thank you Commissioner Vandenboschhe for your help in making Algonac a great place to live, work and play!!
