State of Michigan's Office of Highway Safety Planning | St. Clair County Sheriff's Office
The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office is a participating organization in the State of Michigan's Office of Highway Safety Planning grant funded targeted enforcement patrols. These patrols include Click it or Ticket Seatbelt Enforcement, Impaired Driving Enforcement, Distracted Driving Enforcement and Targeted Speed Enforcement. These grant funded initiatives are designed to reduce unsafe or aggressive driving behaviors in an effort to reduce fatal crashes within the county, as well as state wide.
Using grant funds the Sheriff's Office conducted speed enforcement targeting the Capac Rd corridor in western St. Clair County. Between December 6th and December 15th Deputies initiated 61 traffic stops that resulted in 37 citations (33 speeding citations, 1 other moving violation and 3 non-moving violations) and one felony arrest.
