Raising awareness of Ovarian Cancer

Cancer

City of Algonac issued the following announcement on Sept. 3.

Wondering why teal ribbons are tied on lamp posts in the Algonac Riverfront Park during the month of September?  City Council recently approved participation in National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

Each year 22,000 people are diagnosed and 15,000 die.  There is no early detection test, so awareness of the symptoms is the key to early diagnosis.  Go to www.mioca.org for more information.
