Charter Township of Port Huron issued the following announcement on Oct. 29.
The Charter Township of Port Huron is accepting applications for qualified individuals for the position of Clerk II Deputy Treasurer/Treasurer's Assistant. The Deputy Treasurer/Treasurer's Assistant reports directly to the Township Treasurer. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and minimum qualifications necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
1) Proven successful operation of various office machines, including computer, fax machine, copy machine, printers and multi-line phone system
2) Proficient knowledge and ability to successfully utilize various computer software. A working knowledge of BS&A Assessing and Tax Program, and NDS Utility, Cash Receipting program helpful.
3) Reasonable knowledge of professional office practices and procedures; business English; business communications, spelling and governmental accounting.
4) Ability to independently plan, organize and prioritize work demands effectively and efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
5) Ability to understand, interpret and implement complex verbal and written instructions.
6) Ability to concentrate and work with numbers while facing numerous interruptions by customers at the counter or calling by phone.
7) Ability to use good judgement, initiative and resourcefulness to interact tactfully and courteously with the public.
8) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, department heads, elected officials, appointed board members and the public.
9) Graduation from an accredited high school with instruction in or supplemented by clerical courses.
10) Reasonable experience in general office work with proven superior math, communication and organizational skills.
